ORGANISATIONS WITH WHICH THE GOVERNOR IS ASSOCIATED

The Governor is the President/Chairman of several institutions. Among the Organisations/Institutions
with which the Governor is associated, the most important are Salar Jung Museum, Indian Red
Cross Society, St. John Ambulance Association, Rajya Sainik Board, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Hind Kusht Nivaran Sangh and T.B.Association.
Salar Jung Museum is an institution of national importance which attracts people in thousands, including foreign visitors, throughout the year. Under an Act of Parliament `The Salar Jung Museum Act, 1961, the administration of the Museum is entrusted to an autonomous body, the `Salar Jung Museum Board of which the Governor is the Ex-officio Chairman. The Director of the Museum is the Secretary of the Board.Besides the Chairman and nominated members, the Salar Jung Museum Board consists of ex-officio members. (B) INDIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY (IRCS) The Governor is the President of the Sate Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society. The Governor as President presides over the Annual General Body Meeting of the Managing Committee. There are Honorary Chairman and General Secretary to look after the management and day to day functioning of the Society. (C) RAJYA SAINIK BOARD This is a Directorate of Sainik Welfare which assists the management of the Special Fund for the rehabilitation of Ex-Servicemen. The Governor is the Ex-Officio Chairman of the State Managing Committee constituted for the management and administration of this Special Fund. (D) ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION The Governor is the President of the State Unit of St. John Ambulance Association and he presides over the Annual General Body Meeting of the State Unit. There is an Honorary Secretary to look after the organization at the State level. (E) BHARAT SCOUTS & GUIDES The Governor is the President of the State Council of Bharat Scouts and Guides. The Governor presides over the meetings of the State Council. There is an Honorary Secretary to look after the organization at the State level. (F) HIND KUSHT NIVARAN SANGH The Governor is the President of the State Branch of the Hind Kusht Nivaran Sangh and presides over its Annual General Body Meeting generally held in Raj Bhavan. There is a Chairman to look after the organization at the State level. (G) TUBERCULOSIS ASSOCIATION The Governor is the President of the State Council of Tuberculosis Association. The Governor presides over the meetings of the State Council. There is an Honorary Secretary to look after the organization at the State level. |
